Well travelled and having resided between North America and Asia for a large part of his life, Varun always had a keen interest as to what global retail experiences would translate well to the Indian subcontinent. This has largely contributed to his advising and developing road maps for beauty and skincare startups in Asia for Fortune 100 Companies.
Varun gained a dual degree in Finance and Management from New York, however his passion for skincare, beauty and men’s health came full circle when he decided to move back to India to assist Dermalogica grow their Indian operations and making them a major player in Asia.
As General Manager for the brand he oversaw all new strategic alliances, along with marketing and sales strategies for the company within India in keeping with the brand ethos globally. Expansion into new territories through vendor partnerships, alliances and e-commerce assisted him in garnering numerous awards in the beauty and skincare sectors. Varun has also been a keynote speaker at the Indian Salon and Wellness Congress.
Additionally, in 2015 Varun achieved his Football Managerial Licenses and badges and has managed pro-teams in the Indian division.
He was also part of the GQ 2017 Man Of The Year issue with his insights on football development and expansion in India
As a key contributor to Imperfekt Beauty, he’s garnered vast experience in the beauty business and is keen to experiment and discover versatile brands, products and formulations that cater to the various aspects of a man's lifestyle regardless of luxury, premium or mass market.
Varun is also an ardent reader and enjoys writing and chess in his free time.
